Independent Physicians of the Carolinas is a nonprofit 501(c)(6)
membership organization whose mission is to create public awareness

Melissa Karp, AUD, Audiologist, completed advanced training
for treatment of Decreased Sound Tolerance (DST) at the
Jastreboff Hearing Disorders Foundation. Dr. Karp treats tinnitus,
hyperacusis and misophonia at Audiology & Hearing Services
of Charlotte. with the research staff team, directors Sanjib Mohanty, MD, and
M. Reza Bolouri, MD, spoke at the Navigating Dementia
Conference in September on the process of diagnosing
Alzheimer’s. Alzheimer’s Memory Center sponsored the
Cypress of Charlotte Annual Health and Wellness Fair, the Walk
to End Alzheimer’s 2019 and the Centralina Aging Conference
in November. Dr. Bolouri was interviewed for the November
issue of Medical Professionals Magazine and gave an update on
Alzheimer’s treatment.
Elizabeth Moran, MD, is participating in the local Dancing with
the Stars for the Pink House fundraiser for Carolina Breast Friends
on February 28 at the Knight Theater to help women and men with
breast cancer.
Carolina Pharmacy Group hired a new
pharmacist at the Walker’s Drug Store
location. Jaimenee Patel has more than
30 years of retail pharmacy experience
and leadership skills. Her addition to the aesthetics experience,
team strengthens the services the store’s
patients and community receive.
Carolina Pharmacy Group has invested
in Pak My Meds Compliance Packaging
Boxes. This service is similar to Pill Pack by Amazon except
their service is free, local and customizable. Moreover, this
service allows them to provide an option
for any patient to receive medication in
easy-to-open and travel-with, labeled
packaging. All of their medications
will be synchronized for same-day
fills and pickup or delivery. Any

from Western Carolina
University. She has 18
years of emergency
room, intensive care
unit, plastics and
and clinical experience in family medicine, women’s health
and obstetrics
and gynecology, geriatrics, pediatrics and dermatology. She
is happy to have joined Maeve O’Connor, MD, and the staff
at AAIR of Charlotte. Connolly and her husband enjoy
traveling, jiu-jitsu, photography, cooking and hanging out
with their two Westies.
