About MCMS

The Mecklenburg County Medical Society, located in Charlotte, North Carolina is a nonprofit professional society of more than 1,300 physician members. The MCMS is committed to the profession of medicine and to the people it serves.

The MCMS is involved in numerous public services and community activities to provide education, awareness and access to various community health resources and health education. Through MCMS, members are given the opportunity to serve both the medical and lay communities and maintain a vital connection to each other.

Community Programs Started by MCMS

•  Physicians Reach Out – a program for uninsured in Mecklenburg County
     (now at Care Ring – patients interested in enrolling can call 704-375-0172)

•  Teen Health Connection – provides medical care for adolescents

•  MedAssist of Mecklenburg (now NC MedAssist) – a free pharmacy

MCMS is a physician-led organization with more than 100 years’ experience in making a difference in the health of our community.

The Society serves all physicians and physician assistants who seek to have a forum for impactful collaborations and the implementation of programs addressing the healthcare needs for our region.

Membership provides unique opportunities for networking among physicians and physician assistants, allowing for a unified voice for healthcare policy and advocacy on behalf of all Mecklenburg County residents.

We are an accessible, seamless organization where one can work with colleagues to address healthcare concerns and issues.
