Services Provided Through Physicians Reach Out 

The Mecklenburg County Medical Society has developed Physicians Reach Out (PRO), a non-profit program that provides health care access to low income, uninsured residents of Mecklenburg County.

These services are provided by more than 1,000 physicians, both hospital systems and other health care service providers. Physicians Reach Out is not an insurance plan. Physicians Reach Out offers free or discounted health services donated by its participating physicians, partners and other providers.

The operation of PRO is supported financially through the generous help of various organizations and is also made possible through its many collaborative partners and in-kind contributors.

Patients enrolled with PRO can receive many of their prescription medications free of charge through MedAssist of Mecklenburg, a nonprofit community pharmacy.
